The new escape claims that it has a complete list of Apple TV compatibility that will be able to complement the TVOS 26 upgrade, which will be declared #wwdc25.
WWDC leaks continue with a list of compatibility for Apple TV and TVOS 26, one for Apple Watch and surprising for HomePod. This particular leak says TVOS 26 will be available to users of these models:
- Apple TV HD (2015)
- Apple TV 4K (1 Generation, 2017)
- Apple TV 4K (2 Generation, 2021)
- Apple TV 4K (3rd generation, 2022)
While the leak does not end, there are two models of the latest Apple TV 4K 3. Generation, but they are probably supported. The difference between the two is that one used only Wi-Fi also has Ethernet.
As with Apple Watch and its Watchos 26, a list of compatibility escaped, which means that no models are dropped this year.
However, it also means that the only release of Apple TV models that will not be supported are the first, second and third versions of the original system. Apple itself began to support the first generation model in 2018.
More recently, Netflix announced that it would end support for Apple TV models of the second and third generation.
Separately repeated rumors say that in 2025 the new soft time will be a hard time. Although TVOS 26 will be launched at WWDC 2025, it is conceivable – but extremely unlikely – that it will be hardware at the beginning.
